With no textbook to use, I wrote a series of questions for each topic that would cover the requirements of the specification and provide students with notes to revise from. It also encouraged independent learning. I would ask students to complete a number of questions prior to each lesson for discussion. There are blank sheets on which I would get my students to stick exam questions from the specimen papers.

A description of a fictitious business called Everlasting Soul - a children’s clothing company. I have used this in Key Stage 3 RE lessons. Throughout the overview of the company are questionable practices that would contradict ethical theories and religious teachings. Students highlight the things that they think present a problem. It can also be used with GCSE Business Studies students as a starter on Business Ethics. Great paired activity. Generates good discussion and debate.

An introduction to the Four Noble Truths in the context of a visit to the doctor. A good way int to Buddhism for the first time, exploring the idea that Buddhism has a different approach to other religions.
